Fingerpaint flower picture with pastel colors with a thumbprint of yellow in the center of each flower.
Add green leaves (child cuts small shapes from green paper) and glue to flower painting from yesterday.
Make a "mirrored" butterfly. Fold a piece of paper in half and paint a design on one side of the fold. While paint is still wet, fold and press other side over painted design. Open and allow to dry. Cut around edges and add eyes & antennae with black marker.

Cut 1X1 inch squares from tissue paper. Show the child how to wrap around the end of an unsharpened pencil & dip in glue. Arrange on paper to make a flower. Add a stem & leaves with crayon.
Make a sunflower. Paint the edges of a paper plate with yellow paint. Paint the center brown. Allow to dry overnight and save for tomorrow.
Cut fringe around edges of paper plate flower from yesterday and curl ends in slightly.
Make a daffodil. Glue cupcake liners to a piece of paper and add stems with markers. Paint popsicle sticks for tomorrow's activity.
Make a mother's day frame by gluing colored popsicle sticks onto the enclosed frame pattern.
Glue a photo of the child inside.

Discuss Farms. Talk about planting, growing, and raising animals for food. Make a trip to the store to buy seeds, pots, soil, mini shovel and spray bottle for water.
Continue to discuss farms.
Discover the soil that was purchased. Allow the child to touch and explore the soil. Make a soil picture by spreading glue on a page with a paintbrush & sprinkle to make designs.
Open a pack of seeds that was purchased. Allow the child to discover the seeds. Place some seeds in the enclosed zipper bag with a wet paper towel. Depending on the type of seed, it should sprout within 2-10 days. Beans are a good choice, since they sprout very quickly.
Continue to discuss farms.
Observe seeds in bag to see if they have sprouted.
Make a collage on paper with remaining seeds from packet.

Prepare soil in pots for seeds next week by placing soil in pots & adding enough water to moisten.

Observe seeds in bag to see if they have sprouted. If seeds have sprouted, plant them according to package directions in pots of soil. If they have not yet sprouted, save this for when they do.
Start a large farm mural that will be our project over the next week by painting green grass along bottom of newsprint.

Continue to discuss farms. Allow child to decorate cow page and cut out & glue on farm mural page. Allow mural to dry overnight. This awesome project is now complete!
Make a yellow chick. Cut circle out of enclosed paper. Add yellow raffia straw. Paper punch two black eyes and cut out small orange beak and feet with patterns on circle sheet. Add to chick & glue. Allow to dry.
Review shapes from the school year. Discuss numbers & letters learned. Have a free art with supplies left from the school year & leftover scraps of paper.
Congratulations, graduates! Pass out diplomas, have refreshments and enjoy a playdough day. Teachers, enjoy the summer. See you next school year!
